A BOXING legend helped host an army recruitment evening where he presented a cheque for £17,000 to the Royal British Legion.

Lloyd Honeyghan, a former world welterweight champion, joined the Mayor of Lewisham last Wednesday at the Territorial Army (TA) centre in Grove Park, which recruits from all over south-east London, including Bromley.

The event was organised to recruit more members to the TA. Among attractions were a climbing wall and hotdogs and burgers cooked by army chefs.
