Liberal Democrats headed to Orpington on Saturday (May 14) to make the case for Britain remaining in the EU, as the referendum debate heats up.
The aim of the party’s #INTogether campaign is to demonstrate the future benefits of close relations with European countries, and how shared investment and prosperity can improve Britain’s standing in the world.
“We had a fantastic response from the people of Orpington” said Bromley Liberal Democrat chair David Charlesworth. “There were a lot of very energetic discussions with people from both sides of the argument, even a few shouts of support and opposition from traffic passing by!
“But most people who stopped just wanted more information to help them decide, they asked about issues that gave them concern from employment and the economy, to security and immigration. Everyone knows what a huge decision it will be on June 23.”
