An 18-year-old and 17-year-old were arrested yesterday

Two teenagers were arrested yesterday (Wednesday) after they were pulled over by police in Chestnut Grove, Penge.

Officers on patrol stopped a Mercedes at 6.45pm after the occupants were seen acting suspiciously.

A search of the vehicle revealed a knife, a quantity of cannabis, a bank card and a passport.

The 18-year-old driver of the vehicle was arrested on suspicion of possession of a bladed article and handling stolen goods.

The 17-year-old passenger of the vehicle was arrested on suspicion of possession of a bladed article, possession of cannabis and handling stolen goods.

Both remain in custody at a south London police station.
