Desean McDonald

A 15-year-old boy killed when he was knocked down while walking along the road has been named.

Desean McDonald, from Beckenham, died on August 15 after being hit by a black Mazda RX8 in Denmark Hill on August 12 just after 6.50pm.

Officers named and released a picture of the teen on Monday (23) in a bid to bring forward witnesses.

The car was travelling north close to the junction with Camberwell Station Road when the incident occurred.

Desean was taken by ambulance to Kings College Hospital in a critical condition where he later died.

A post mortem gave the cause of death as a head injury. An inquest opened and adjourned on August 19 at Southwark Coroners’ Court.

A Met spokesperson said: “The road would have been busy at the time of the collision and we would like to speak to people who were in the area at the time.”
