A FREE beginner and family friendly bike ride through the countryside is due to take place over this bank holiday weekend.
Organised by Hayes based Bigfoot Bike Club, it will be on country lanes, stopping at the White Bear pub at Fickleshole and is a 10-mile round trip, mostly on quiet roads.
There is also a shorter six mile option that doesn't go as far as the pub. Club Secretary, Andy Ivy, said: "Everyone will ride in one group, nobody will be left behind, the aim is country air and fun. Bromley has some of London's best countryside, and we want to make it accessible to anybody new to cycling."
Participants should bring a bike in good condition, a helmet, a small water bottle and some money if you want drinks or snacks at the pub.
You should also take a spare inner tube and the tools needed to take off your wheels in case of puncture. The ride leaders will also have tools and will be able to help.
Everyone is welcome and there is no need to book in advance. Meet outside the Bigfoot Bike Shop, 50 Hayes Street, Bromley www.bigfootbikes.com at 10.15am ready to ride off at10.30am. The ride will return to the bike shop at about 1pm.Children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a parent or carer.
