THE Bible will be read from cover to cover over nine days during a readathon.

More than 150 people from 20 different churches are expected to take part in the marathon reading at St Mary's Church, Plaistow, Bromley.

Readings are due to take place from 9am to 9pm daily between Friday March 6 and Sunday March 15 with lunch and tea intervals, in a bid to make the bible accessible to the whole community.

Those taking part include four church ministers, husband and wives teams, seven Bromley councillors and MPs Bob Neill and John Horam.

Entry is free and donations and sponsorship are welcome.

More readers, stewards and greeters are needed for the event. Contact the church on 0208 460 1827 for more information.
