Investion ongoing after man dies in Orpington house fire

14 fire crews attended the blaze

Firefighters were called to a house fire in Orpington yesterday afternoon.

Crews put out a small fire where they found the body of a man in the lounge of a property on Tower Road.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Two fire engines and 14 firefighters and officers from Orpington and Sidcup fire stations attended the incident.

The Brigade was called just after 2pm and the call was over by around 3.15pm.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
