Investigation into damaging Orpington house fire gets underway

Crews were called to the blaze on Monday afternoon

A fire ripped through the ground and first floor of an Orpington home on Monday.

Around 20 firefighters from Orpington, Sidcup and Greenwich were called to the blaze at a two storey terraced house in Englefield Close at 2.15pm.

The fire had damaged both floors and crews spent just under two hours at the scene bringing the fire under control.

The flames were finally out by 4.06pm, and an investigation into the cause of the blaze is now underway.

There is no report of any injuries in the fire.
