A SIX-hour display ranging from historic planes to modern military machines will be at a spectacular air show this weekend.

The Biggin Hill International Air Fair has lined up a host of flying machines to entertain spectators.

They will include those flown in combat during the Great War, the heroic fighters and bombers of WW II and a display by 21st century aircraft and helicopters currently in service with the RAF and Army Aviation.

Also due to take place is a special feature marking 100 years of Naval aviation.

Highlights will include the appearance for the first time in years of the formidable Avro Vulcan V-bomber of the Cold War years following its multi-million pound restoration.

Seven teams are set to fly in the daily display, including the RAF Aerobatic Team - The Red Arrows - and the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight featuring a Hurricane, Spitfire fighters, Lancaster bomber as well as the Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress.

Spectators will be invited to the meet the pilots marquee where the teams will sign autographs and answer questions.

More than 200 exhibitors will be at the fair including classic cars, a fun fair and scores of stalls.

Gates open at 8am this Saturday and Sunday and display flying runs froom 11.30am until 5.30pm.
