A CAMPAIGN has been launched to encourage families to share their homes with a vulnerable adult.

A CAMPAIGN has been launched to encourage families to share their homes with a vulnerable adult.

As well as posters and adverts to raise awareness of the Bromley Scheme for Adult Placements, a team will be promoting it at Glades Shopping Centre next Monday, March 29, between 8am and 6pm.

The aim of the scheme is to help adults needing care and support gain greater independence.

Sandra Scott, a carer with the scheme for two years, said: "If you want to make a real difference to people's lives, then you'll get immense job satisfaction from sharing your home.

"You need to be patient and take small steps and get to know the person, not the disability. Of course, it's challenging but what you get out of it makes it so worthwhile." About 40 vulnerable adults have benefited from the council-run scheme since its launch in 2006.
