TWO hospice charities have joined forces to offer more end-of-life care to old and sick people.

St Christopher's Hospice and Harris Hospiscare merged last Monday following a long-term collaboration offering services to people in Bromley, Bexley, London and Kent.

Now known as Harris Hospiscare with St Christopher's, the charity will continue to provide home care and support for patients and their families.

St Christopher's chief executive Barbara Monroe said: "The merger will provide opportunities for further important developments, including the support of those with non-cancer-related illnesses and the care of older people in care homes and people with dementia.
