A WEDDING planner and actress is postponing her own honeymoon so she can perform in a musical.

Susan Wilcock is playing the lead role of Sally Smith in West Wickham Operatic Society's amateur dramatic production of Me and My Girl at the Churchill Theatre in Bromley.

Mrs Wilcock, 32, married her partner Stephen Wilcock in Leeds last Sunday but instead of following tradition and escaping on honeymoon straight away, she rushed back to Bromley to rehearse for the production.

She said: "I told them when I auditioned that I was getting married but I really, really wanted the part.

"I've always wanted to play Sally Smith so it was really important to me to do the play and I'm really looking forward to it."

Luckily the newlyweds can still be together as her husband is playing saxophone, clarinet and flute in the play.

The pair will jet off on honeymoon to New York in January.

Me and My Girl is at The Churchill theatre, Bromley from November 18 to 22.
