A CHARITY has been given a £10,000 grant to run its summer scheme, which provides activities for youngsters with learning disabilities.

Bromley Mencap was awarded funds by the Jack Petchey Foundation to run the scheme over six weeks. It provides accessible, inclusive and enjoyable activities for 36 students with disabilities in full-time education.

The scheme not only gives students a great time with their friends but provides two weeks' respite for parents during the summer holidays. Activity days are held one day a week.

Bromley council has agreed to support the scheme for the next three years and the Jack Petchey Foundation has matched its funding.
