The Hayes Players will perform The 39 Steps at Hayes Village Hall.

Final rehearsals are under way for the first production of the season for The Hayes Players, who open with comedy thriller The 39 Steps.

Based on the John Buchan book and Alfred Hitchcock’s later film adaptation, the play tells the story of Richard Hannay who is framed for murder and on the run.

Featuring double-crossing agents, nutty professors and a traditional English stiff upper lip, Richard attempts to clear his name and uncover the riddle of the 39 steps.

This tongue-in-cheek production involves 139 characters played by just four actors.

Performances start at Hayes Village Hall, in Hayes Street on Wednesday from 7.45pm. For tickets, call 07905 210718 or email
