Bromley council is drawing up its plan for development in the borough and wants your views.

WHERE should new houses, schools and offices be built in the borough of Bromley?

That is the question Bromley council is asking over the next few weeks as it develops its new Local Plan – its official plan for development in the borough over the next 15 years.

Among the sites mentioned are Biggin Hill and Crystal Palace Park.

Peter Morgan, Bromley’s executive councillor for renewal and recreation, said: “We need to ensure that we have the right development in the right place.

“The plan has to balance the need for land for development with protection of the environment.”

Peter Dean, chairman of the council’s development control committee, added: “There is rightly enormous interest in future development in the borough.

“Maintaining the unique character of Bromley is a priority and we want to ensure that our plan encourages high quality development.

“Individual planning applications will be determined using the policies in the plan, so it is important to a wide range of people and organisations and I would encourage anyone who is interested to get involved in this consultation.”
