All dogs must be microchipped by law from next April
Dog owners in Bromley can have their pets microchipped and tagged for free this weekend.
Battersea Dogs’ and Cats’ Home will be offering the service at the Downham Celebrates Summer Festival on Saturday.
The festival takes place between 11am and 4pm at Downham Health and Leisure Centre in Moorside Road.
There will be free activities including a climbing wall and a smoothie bike – an exercise bike and smoothie maker in one.
Staff from Battersea will also be happy to answer any questions owners have about dog behaviour and training.
From April next year, all dogs will have to be microchipped by law.
Sharon Sealey, Battersea’s community engagement manager, said: “A microchip is the size of a grain of rice and can reunite a lost pet with their owner within hours.”
