A KUNG Fu master has put celebrities, including Doctor Who actor John Barrowman, though their paces for a new TV show.
The actor, who plays Captain Jack Harkness, was trained up by black belt Chris Crudelli star of Mind, Body and Kick Ass Moves ahead of his new BBC programme Tonight's the Night.
Crudelli, whose team of instructors teaching martial arts for his Way of the Warrior School in Bexleyheath, Bromley and Dartford, taught the Torchwood star to break a brick on his hand.
Olympic gold medallist Denise Lewis was taught by Crudelli's team to break a wooden board with her fist, whilst holding an egg.
Instructor Paul Fisher, from Bexleyheath, said: "We taught each celebrity a Kata sequence, of kicks, blocks and elbow technique which is the hall mark of the Kung Fu we teach.
"Denise was doing her special challenge really well in the training but unfortunately she broke the egg on the night. It still looked fantastic though."
Crudelli, who hails from Greenwich, launched his first classes last July at Roberts Hall, Christ Church, Bexleyheath, to urge youths not carry weapons.
He said: "I have been shocked that so many people have experience knife crime in some way.
"It's getting worse - the people carrying them are getting younger."
The school now teaches at Dartford's Amar Hall, in East Hill, from 7to 9pm on Mondays and at Bromley Parish Church, Church Road, Bromley, on Fridays between 7 and 9pm.
The BBC aired the martial arts lessons in Tonight's the Night's second episode on April 25, but it is still available online.
Beginners to advanced learners of all ages are welcome at Way of the Warrior lessons. For more information call 07543415743 or visit www.wayofthewarriorschool.com.
