A MAN inspired to make guitars after the death of his father has been acclaimed for bringing 'retro sexy' back to its roots.

Gary Hutchins, 49, who grew up in Kent, is already having his unique guitars sought after, just three years after his dad Derek died of cancer.

His inspired creations have taken the music world by storm, with bands like The Kooks and Snow Patrol already among those to appreciate their unique sound.

Stars of hit TV series Long Way Down - Charlie Boorman and Ewan MacGregor - auctioned three Edbanger guitars raising £27,000 for MacGregor's favourite charity Unicef.

Mr Hutchins said: "When I learned that my dad had this regret it affected me deeply because I had a fantastic childhood and that was his legacy to me.

"One day I was playing a guitar, very badly, and looking down at the headstock it suddenly occurred to me that was how I could create his legacy."

His limited edition guitars dubbed 'retro sexy' by Guitarist magazine are in The Musician Shop, Bluewater, and Dingo Jacks, Dartford.
