Grove Park man charged as drone used to smuggle phones and cannabis into prison

He has been remanded in custody

Police investigating reports that drugs and phones were smuggled into prisons via a drone have charged two people.

Mobile phones and cannabis, were allegedly sent into the prison between March 16 and April 25.

Daniel Lee Kelly, 37, of Amblecote Meadows in Grove Park has been charged with two counts of bringing the prohibited items in HMP Swaleside in Eastchurch, on the Isle of Sheppey.

He appeared in court on Tuesday and has been remanded in custody until May 24.

Ingrid Edwards, 25 of Wolfe Crescent in Charlton was charged with the same offences and has been bailed until to appear at the court on the same day.
