A charitable group of budding bakers got into the Olympic spirit by delivering an array of homemade treats to every ward of a Bromley hospital on Friday.

The Friends of the Princess Royal University Hospital, in Croydon Road, Beckenham handed out 30 star spangled sponge cakes, 20 chocolate traybakes decorated with Union Jacks and 12 London 2012 tins of caramel shortcake.

Chairman of the Friends Pauline Allard said: “Once again we wanted to do something special for the patients and staff so that they knew they were not forgotten during the difficult time for the South London Healthcare Trust.”
