Drivers who want to appeal a parking fine in Bromley and Bexley can now get help from an online tool – which will tell them if they’ve got a case.

Disgruntled drivers who want to appeal against a parking fine in Bromley and Bexley can now get help from an online tool – which will tell them if they’ve got a case or not.

The two councils are the first in the UK to provide the service, which will tell you the likely outcome of your appeal and give you a full explanation.

This should give you help and confidence if you’ve got a sound case – and save you a lot of hassle if you don’t.

Bromley council’s executive councillor for the environment, Colin Smith, said: “We have always encouraged ticketed motorists who feel hard done by to appeal.

“This is designed to help those contemplating doing so arrive at their decision in a more fully informed manner.

“We hope that in addition to serving motorists with a genuine reason to appeal, it will also help others before they decide to enter what can sometimes be a very stressful process on a purely speculative basis.”

Bromley council receives about 23,000 appeals a year, while Bexley receives 12,000.
