A GOLF captain has raised £3,700 for a mental health charity after a year of fundraising events.

Chislehurst Golf Club's Reg Pollard chose Bromley Mind as his charity for the last year, raising funds through a Napoleon III style fashion show, quizzes, antiques roadshow, a golf day and a raffle.

Mr Pollard, who has been a volunteer driver for MindCare for five years, has experienced at first hand how the charity helps people with dementia stay in their homes for as long as possible.

The money raised will help buy sun awnings for the centre in Beckenham, and the remainder will be put towards an appeal to buy a mini bus for the unit in St Paul's Cray.
