A BUSINESSMAN was traumatised after robbers bound his hands and feet and stole thousands of pounds worth of golf equipment.

The owner of the Pro Shop at Langley Park Golf Club, in Barnfield Wood Road, Beckenham, was about to close up when thieves came in, tied him up, and robbed equipment worth £20,000 before making off in a white Mercedes Sprinter van.

Police are now appealing for information about the incident which took place on January at 12 around 5pm.

General manager, Rodger Pollard, said: "The owner had a traumatic experience having his feet and hands tied. He was very shaken up. The owner was just about to lock up, he actually had his jacket on to leave and had brought in his displays from outside. The last people had just left the car park when they drove their van up and robbed him. They only stayed for five minutes or so."

Both suspects are Asian, aged between 25 and 30 and were wearing dark hooded clothing. The first man, who was around 6ft tall, was also wearing a baseball cap. The second suspect was around 5ft 7ins.

Anyone with any information should contact Detective Constable Ade Akinkule at Bromley Police's robbery squad on 020 8284 9969.
