GREEN garden waste sites across the borough will be closing from this weekend for the winter.

Sunday is the last day residents can dispose of leaves, grass cuttings and prunings at the five sites in Bromley.

The sites will reopen temporarily for two weekends in January when people can bring Christmas trees and other green garden waste for recycling into compost. They open on January 9 and 16 from 11am to 4pm and January 10 and 17 from 8am to noon.

The sites are located at St George's Road car park, off Albemarle Road, Beckenham; Charles Darwin School, Jail Lane, Biggin Hill; Norman Park, Hook Farm Road entrance off Bromley Common; Salt Depot, Shire Lane 'spur' off Sevenoaks Road, Green Street Green; and Cotmandene Crescent car park, off Chipperfield Road, St Paul's Cray.
