FRIENDS of the earth members have given the first car sharing club in the borough the thumbs up.

City Car Club have launched a scheme in Bromley with its first pool car parked in Sherman Road that members can share.

After joining the scheme with a fee of £50, drivers can use the car for under £5 an hour with discounts for longer periods and no maintenance or repair costs.

Ray Watson of Bromley's Friends of the Earth said: "It is like a pay-as-you-go scheme without the hassle and expense of owning your own car."
