Free bowel cancers checks are being offered in Bromley.

Teams at BMI Chelsfield Park in Bucks Cross Road, Orpington and The Sloane Hospitals in Albemarle Road, Beckenham are encouraging residents to sign up for a free bowel cancer test between Monday, January 23 and Saturday, February 4.

The appointments, which have to be booked in advance, offer a free consultation and examination with a consultant gastroenterologist or bowel specialist, a stool test and an explanation of the results.

Consultant Gastroenterologist and General Physician Dr Maxwell Asante, at BMI Chelsfield Park and Sloane Hospitals said: “Over the years I have treated many patients affected by bowel cancer. The willingness of patients to speak openly and honestly with their doctors about their bowel symptoms can make a huge difference in their health outcome. I, along with the staff at BMI Chelsfield Park and The Sloane Hospitals are very proud to support Beating Bowel Cancer’s efforts. We very much hope that our participation in the event can help encourage people to become more aware of the disease.”

To book an appointment call 0800 656 9612.
