Flooding and travel delays in Bromley due to burst water main

Bromley Common is blocked

A road in Bromley is closed after a burst water main has caused severe flooding.

The A21, Bromley Common, is blocked and traffic is crawling through Southlands Road and Homesdale Road.

Bromley police issued a statement saying the road is closed, and drivers should avoid the common.

Thames Water has also stated that Bromley reisdents may be without water or have low water pressure due to the issue.

A spokesperson for the water supplier said: “We’re sorry to any customers in postcodes BR1, BR2, BR5, or BR7 area who may be without water or experiencing lower water pressure than normal. This is due to a burst water pipe on Masons Hill BR2.

“We’re looking into this now, and we will update this message as soon as we have more information.”

Traffic England advised travellers to use an alternative route to get to theri destination.
