A CAMPAIGN to reduce the number of outside fires in the borough has been launched by the council.

Bromley council has launched their Don't be a Fire starter campaign in response to the number of outdoor fires recorded in the borough.

More outdoor fires are recorded in Bromley every year than in any other London borough.

The campaign encourages residents to stop dropping lit cigarette butts and barbecuing in open spaces.

Posters will be displayed in newsagents and flyers with advice on using parks and open spaces sensibly along with portable ashtrays will be given out to spread the word.
