Fire breaks out at takeaway restaurant in Bromley High Street

More than 20 firefighters battled to bring a blaze at a takeaway restaurant in Bromley High Street under control yesterday (Friday, April 13).

A London Fire Brigade spokesman confirmed our fire engines and 21 firefighters were called to a fire at a takeaway restaurant with flats above at 3.38am.

Part of the ducting from the ground to the second floor and part of the ground floor were damaged by the fire.

Crews ventilated three of the first floor flats as they were smoke-logged.

Seven people left the building before the fire brigade arrived. There were no reports of any injuries.

The emergency services were called at 3.38am and the fire was under control by 5.31am.

Fire crews from Bromley, Beckenham, Lee Green and Lewisham fire stations attended the scene.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
