A fifth teenager has been arrested in connection with the fire at the Islamic Darul Uloom School in Foxbury Avenue, Chislehurst.

The 18-year-old boy was arrested in Greenwich on suspicion of arson with intent yesterday afternoon and taken into custody at a south London police station. He has since been bailed to return on a date in August.

Bromley police are continuing their investigation into the fire, thought to be suspicious.

Almost 130 staff and pupils were evacuated when the blaze broke out at around 11.50pm on Saturday night.

Two people were treated at the scene for smoke inhalation but they did not require hospital treatment.

The school re-opened on Sunday morning and there was just minimal damage to the building.

Four teenagers previously arrested have also been bailed to return in August.

Anyone with information can call police on 101 or, to remain anonymous, call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
