CHARITIES have raised thousands of pounds by taking part in a village fair last month.

This year's Hayes Fair, sponsored by the Bromley Times, gave more than 80 charities a space for a stall to raise funds at the event.

Organisers Hayes Village Association made a profit of £2,500, which is to be donated to the village hall and community bus appeal as well as Kent and London Air Ambulance, Harris HospisCare, Primrose Foundation and St Christopher's. Also benefiting from

the fair are Foal Farm,

National Association for

Colitis and Crohn's Disease, Dame Vera Lynn Trust, Great Ormand Street Hospital Children's Charity and Helen

Kirkland Trust.
