AN up and coming pop singer visited her old primary school to sing for pupils.

Pixie Lott, who has launched her singing career after performing in the West End musical Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, visited Chislehurst Church of England Primary School, last Wednesday.

The 18-year-old is due to play at the Isle of Wight Festival in June and is spending this summer supporting The Saturdays as they tour the UK.

Headteacher John Paddington said: "She was with us from reception to year six.

"I had to admit I didn't know who she was but it turns out she is becoming very successful.

"She likes gospel influenced singing but one of the teachers said to me that she sounds a bit like Amy Winehouse."

Miss Lott sang Mamma Do, her debut single which is due for release on June 8, and a cover of the Kings of Leon song, Use Somebody. Her first album is expected in September.

Mr Paddington added: "The school secretary and a couple of the teachers remembered her from 15 years ago. She used to perform in our drama shows."
