Bromley's oldest store, E. W. Payne, is inviting shoppers to make an offer for remaining jewellery items this weekend as owners prepare to close after more than a century.

For the final three days of its closing down sale, the jewellers, in High Street, will consider offers for items above the break-up value for the remaining stock that is worth an estimated £750,000.

The store, which opened 103 years ago, will be open to offers from tomorrow (Friday) until Sunday.

Director Nick Stanhope said: “We have been delighted with the impact the sale has made and, though we are sad that the store is closing, it has been good to hear so many stories and happy memories from customers we have looked after over the years.”

E. W. Payne shuts for good at 4pm on Sunday.
