Elderly woman killed after collision in Orpington this morning

An elderly woman died after being hit by a car in Orpington this morning.

Emergency services were called to Crofton Road, at the junction with Burlington Close, at around 10.15am after reports of a collision.

Two ambulance crews arrived at the scene, where they treated a woman, believed to be in her 70s, in cardiac arrest.

She was taken to King’s College Hospital, in Denmark Hill, as a priority. She was pronounced dead shortly after arriving.

Crofton Road remains closed, with officers from the Road Death Investigation Unit at the scene.
