An 84-year-old man died in a road traffic accident in Chislehurst on Saturday morning.

He suffered head and chest injuries after being hit by a car in White Horse Hill at approximately 10am.

The London Ambulance Service sent two crews and a single responder in a car to the scene, where the man was treated before being taken to the Royal London Hospital, Whitechapel, by air ambulance.

He died a short time after.

A spokesman for Bromley police said there have been no arrests in connection with the incident. The driver of the car stopped at the scene.

Road closures were implemented afterwards, but have since been lifted.

Officers are still investigating the circumstances of the accident and are appealing for witnesses.

If anyone was in the area at the time, they are urged to speak to the investigating officer by calling 101.
