A drug dealer chased down by Bromley police as he fled from the car park of a Beckenham supermarket has been jailed for seven years.

Ismail Attah, 28, of Brixton Hill was found guilty of two counts of selling Class A drugs and was sentenced at Croydon Crown Court last week.

He pleaded not guilty throughout the trial after officers found rocks of crack cocaine and £2,200 in the car he ran from parked outside Waitrose, in Southend Road.

A 27-year-old woman from Bromley was also arrested at the scene and received a caution for possession of cocaine.

Attah was found guilty by a jury in just 50 minutes, with the judge remarking that his claims he was showing the woman pictures of Ghana were “clearly ridiculous”.

He has convictions for 13 previous drug offences and was jailed for 27 months at Isleworth Crown Court in January 2010.
