ARMED robbers stole cash from a security guard who was delivering money to a supermarket.

The incident happened last Saturday (9) at around 2pm outside the Co-op store in Cotmandene Crescent, Orpington when two men, one of whom was holding a gun, approached the guard and grabbed the cash box from him.

Two getaway vehicles were involved in the theft, a black Honda and a black Audi.

The Honda was abandoned near to the scene after it was involved in a small collision with a white car.

Police are keen to speak to the driver, a black woman, who is believed to have been threatened with the gun by one of the suspects.

A police spokesman said: "We are anxious to speak to that woman. We only have reports of what happened so we are desperate to have a chat with her. We only know that she was driving a white car."

It is believed the suspects were wearing masks but police do not have any further description of the men.

Anyone with information should contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or the Met's firearms Flying Squad on 0207 232 6530.
