Driver sent for trial over death of teen

A 35-YEAR-OLD man accused of causing the death of a 16-year-old boy by dangerous driving is to appear in crown court next month.

Koaldeep Singh Lit from Strood, appeared at Dartford Magistrates Court last Thursday accused with causing the death of Josh Callaghan, who was killed when his car allegedly mounted the pavement in the Overcliffe, Gravesend, on January 24 this year.

Mr Lit, who is also charged with one count of possession of cocaine, was bailed to appear at Maidstone Crown Court on October 9 for a preliminary hearing.

Mr Callaghan, of Canon Road, Bromley, was a Year 11 pupil at Ravens Wood School in Oakley Road, Bromley.

He was a musician and dramatist and was walking with his father Tim at the time of the incident.
