A DRIVER was pulled from a burning car after it crashed during a high-speed police car chase.
Bromley police tried to stop the silver Vauxhall Astra last Saturday at around 4.15pm in Crystal Palace Park Road but it carried on driving and a high-speed chase began with the driver jumping red lights and hitting speeds of 70mph.
During the chase, the front seat passenger got out in Church Road and threw a large quantity of cash away but the police caught him and found the money.
The speeding Astra carried on before crashing in to another car and a lamppost further down Church Road.
The car caught fire and police raced to the wreckage to pull the driver to safety, who escaped with minor injuries.
The driver of the other car escaped unhurt.
Firefighters were called to tackle the blaze but the car, which was not reported stolen, was burnt out.
Some £1,450 was recovered from the roadside and a further £600 was found on the driver of the vehicle.
A 19-year-old man from Dagenham and a 29-year-old man from Newham were arrested on suspicion of money laundering.
The 29-year-old was also arrested on suspicion of handling stolen goods. Both have been bailed to return to on March 11.
