Driver arrested after police discover flipped car in Downe

A driver was arrested after police found a car overturned and abandoned in Downe last night.

Officers were called the incident in North End Lane at around 11.50pm, where they found the Renault Twingo on its roof in the middle of the road.

The 27-year-old driver returned to the scene shortly after and was arrested on suspicion of drink driving. He has been bailed until January 8.

Temporary road closures were in place for around an hour while the car was cleared.
