Downham woman fined £100 for dumping waste in St Paul’s Cray car park

PUBLISHED: 13:45 01 July 2014 | UPDATED: 14:58 02 July 2014

A woman has been fined after being caught dumping waste from a house clean up at Cotmandene Crescent car park in St Paul’s Cray.

Samantha Weller, of Ballamore Road, Downham attended Bromley Magistrates Court on June 4 where she was fined £100, £20 victim surcharge and ordered to pay £500 costs.

Last September, the council’s CCTV camera at Cotmandene Crescent Car Park provided images of two women unloading and dumping waste next to the council’s recycle bins.

“I am pleased that council officers are able to bring people to account for their actions and hope this will send out a strong message that will help keep the car park clear of inappropriately dumped rubbish,” said Cllr Tim Stevens, executive member for public protection and safety.
