Six fire engines tackled the fire this afternoon

A cricket pavilion on Rangefield Road in Downham has been left badly damaged by a fire

Six fire engines and 35 firefighters and officers from Bromley, Beckenham, Lee Green, Lewisham and Forest Hill tackled the blaze this afternoon after receiving a call at 11.58am.

Despite their efforts, the whole of the single-storey wooden building was badly damaged by the blaze.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
