A 22-year-old woman shattered her kneecap and broke her ankle when a thief run her over with her own van.

On January 21, the delivery driver was dropping a parcel off at a home in Sunningvale Avenue, Biggin Hill, leaving her keys in the van.

Returning to the Ford Transit, she saw a man jump in and drive off, running her down when she tried to stop him.

The white van was tracked down to Waldens Close in Orpington and recovered that afternoon.

Police are now appealing for witnesses to the incident.

DC Chris Taylor said: “We would like to speak with anyone who has any information, who may have seen the van or anyone who was in the Sunnningvale Avenue, Loxwood Close or Waldens Close areas in the early afternoon of January 21.”

Anyone with any information should contact Bromley Police’s CID on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111, quoting reference 3301373/16.

Enquiries continue. There have been no arrests.
