The first cinema in Orpington in 30 years will officially open on February 26.
A date has now been set for the launch of the much-anticipated seven screen, 961-seat cinema which is expected to create 46 local jobs across a number of different areas, including management, hosting and guest services.
Odeon has invested £4m in the development of the site, which includes a state-of-the-art Insense experience, allowing guests to enjoy blockbusters in the cinema’s largest ultra-high-definition screens.
One of just two currently in the UK, the screen features luxury seating throughout and cutting-edge Dolby ATMOS sound, designed to deliver a truly immersive cinema experience.
General manager Trevor Cavell said: “We’re just one month away from opening the doors of our new cinema, and the team couldn’t be more excited.
“To bring the magic of cinema back to Orpington high street after three decades – and with the cutting edge technology we can offer today – will be a truly unique experience for residents, and we look forward to welcoming as many local film fans on February 26 as we can.”
