ASPIRING dancers are set to star in an event to showcase the best dance talent in the borough.

Following in the footsteps of television dance champions Charlie Bruce and Aka Osei-Mansfield, more than 150 youngsters from Bromley schools will take part in the show at Kemnal Technology College, in Sevenoaks Way, on March 16.

The Step into Dance campaign offers weekly dance lessons for free to students aged 11 to 16 at various levels.

Sylvia Fletcher, English teacher and dance co-ordinator at Kemnal Technology College, said: "Two students have been coming to the classes every week for over a year. They really enjoy the dance and like to have something they can work towards and are really committed to."

The spectacular is part of the programme organised by the Royal Academy of Dance, which aims to get more young people involved in dancing.

They have organised a series of events in London boroughs, set to climax at the Sadlers Wells Theatre, Clerkenwell, with a performance called Step LIVE on July 11.
