A FATHER-of-two who punched and kicked a pub manager after being asked to leave at closing time is facing a jail sentence.

Scott Whitnall, 34, of Rodway Road, Bromley, left William Howard needing five stitches to a cut to his chin as well as a black eye after the attack.

The 6ft 7ins thug later tried to threaten an eye witness at the pub despite being on bail.

Jurors at the Old Bailey convicted him of assault occasioning actual bodily harm and intimidation on Tuesday.

Judge David Paget QC said he would sentence Whitnall on September 4 and refused him bail.

He added: "I think frankly a sentence of imprisonment is inevitable."

Whitnall has previous convictions for assaulting a police officer, suing threatening and abusive behaviour and criminal damage.

The Old Bailey heard Whitnall had been drinking with two friends in the Glengall Tavern in Peckham on April 11 last year when he attacked Mr Howard at around midnight when the landlord asked them to finish up.
