Things are looking up for Crystal Palace fans, as The Eagles secured their second win of the season and the services of Tony Pulis at the weekend.

The former Stoke City boss was at Hull City on Saturday to see his new side claim a snatch-and-grab 1-0 win, despite winger Yannick Bolasie seeing red.

Midfielder Barry Bannan scored the only goal of the game, slotting past Alan McGregor after clever work from Cameron Jerome in the box with 13 minutes remaining.

The win sees Palace rise from the bottom of the table and into 19th place at the expense of Sunderland, who lost 2-0 away at Stoke.

Pulis, 55, left The Potters in May after finishing last season in 13th place. He was linked with the hot seat at Selhurst Park soon after Ian Holloway’s departure last month, and admitted “itchy feet” while working as a pundit for ITV.

He has signed a two and a half year contract, and will be in the dugout for his match away at Norwich City on Saturday.
