Crystal Palace have confirmed the signing of free agent Jerome Thomas.

The 30-year-old winger has signed a two-year deal after he was released by midlands club, West Bromwich Albion, on May 22.

Thomas began his career at Arsenal before making a name for himself during a spell at Charlton, pulling on the Addicks shirt more than 100 times from 2004 to 2008.

A season at Portsmouth followed before he was signed by West Brom, again as a free agent, in the summer of 2009.

Thomas will bring Premier League experience to Selhurst Park and is the third signing of the summer for Ian Holloway, who has already bagged Stephen Dobbie and strike Dwight Gayle.

Speaking to The Eagles’ website, Thomas said: “I heard of Crystal Palace’s interest from January actually, and once they got promoted Ollie gave me a call when I was away on holiday, we had a good talk for about 45 minutes and after that conversation there wasn’t much doubt in my mind where I wanted to go.”
