A violent robber who stabbed a man twice to steal his mobile phone has been sentenced to three years in a young offenders’ institution.

Jonathon Gondora, 18, of Anerley Road, Penge, pleaded guilty to robbery and unlawful wounding and at Croydon Crown Court on March 12.

Bromley Police said he robbed his 17-year-old victim in Crystal Palace in August last year.

Gondora stabbed the boy twice in the leg to take his Samsung Galaxy mobile phone, ring and a Gucci belt in Palace Square.

The victim managed to stagger to Crystal Palace station, where he was given first aid before being taken to Kings College Hospital for treatment.

Officers identified Gondora through witness descriptions and he was arrested on September 3.

He initially denied the offence but changed his plea before a jury was sworn in.
