A Penge man has been jailed after attempting to import 1.2kg cannabis into the country hidden in a children’s pink cartoon-themed ‘Frozen’ rucksack.

Kevin Nzamutunga, aged 27, of Upton Court, Blean Grove, Penge, pled guilty to conspiracy to import Class B drugs into the UK and was jailed for four months at Bromley Magistrates’ Court on February 20.

Police in Bromley were alerted by Border Force officials in January 2015 after they intercepted a package, which originated from Colorado in the USA and was destined for Nzamutunga’s sisters’ address.

The package was described as containing two rucksacks with T-shirts in them.

When the package was checked, it was found to contain a carrier bag with a vacuum packed bag of herbal cannabis and a pink Disney ‘Frozen’ backpack, which contained a further three vacuum packed bags of herbal cannabis.

Police arrested Nzamutunga’s when he called at his sister’s address in Penge to collect the package.
